Flash League Basketball Game Format and Rules

Kinder/1st Grade Co-Ed Division:

Game Format:
Warm-up/practice
Pre-game player introductions
6 periods of 5 minute running clock (no timeouts)
4 on 4 half court 
7" goal height
27.5" ball
No scores kept
No referees
Coaches on the court to facilitate inbounding/checking the ball to keep game moving

Rules:
Man to man defense (matching wristbands)
No stealing off the dribble or the pass
No double teaming
Traveling, double dribbling called after 3rd infraction.  1st/2nd infraction game stopped with rules explained.  
Free throws will be awarded for obvious shooting fouls.  Change possession with miss or made free throws.    

1st/2nd Grade Boys and Girls Divisions:

Game Format:
Wam-up
Pre-game player introductions
6 periods of 5 minutes running clock (no timeouts)
5 on 5 full cross court
8" goal height
28.5" ball
Scores kept (scores not displayed if point differential is more than 20)
Referee 
Coaches allowed to walk the sidelines, but not onto the court

Rules:
Man to man defense (matching wristbands)
Stealing allowed off the pass, but not off the dribble (rule may be adjusted for first half of the season)
No pressing at any time (defense picks up behind half court)
Traveling, double dribbling called on 2nd infraction.  1st infraction stopped and rules explained
Free throws awarded for shooting fouls.  Change of possession after free throws regardless of make or miss.    

3rd/4th Grade Boys and Girls Divisions:

Game Format:
Warm-up
Pre-game player introductions
6 periods of 5 minutes running clock (no timeouts)
5 on 5 full cross court
9" goal height for Girls
10" goal height for Boys
28.5" ball
Scores kept (scores not displayed if point differential is more than 20)
Referee 
Coach allowed to walk the sidelines, but not onto the floor

Rules:
Man to man defense encouraged but zone defense is allowed
Stealing allowed off the dribble and off the pass (rule may be adjusted for the first half of the season)
No pressing at any time (defense picks up behind half court)
Traveling, double dribbling called in every instance
Shooting fouls result in two free throws at 12".  Ball is live on miss.
